How I Built A 6-Figure Business in my First Year; And You Can Too
My side gig offering online home decorating services started in April 2018 but I didn’t get 1 paying client. By listening to my audience by November 2018 I had pivoted to a branding + website design company for female entrepreneurs. I was able to build this new business, My Wolf Design, to 6-figures in 2019.
6 Important Things I Did In My First Year (and continue to do)
IDENTIFIED THE NEED BY LISTENING TO MY AUDIENCE
1.In April 2018 I started a passion project offering e-design services. I didn’t get 1 paying client but received a number of inquiries on who designed my website and who was making my social media. I listened to my audience and pivoted to what you now know in November 2018.
ALWAYS CORRECTED THE ROOT PROBLEM
2. Anytime there was an issue, a hiccup a less than smooth execution I always went to the real root cause of the problem to ensure a real fix. This helped fix the issue for the one client but also all future clients.
SHOWED UP CONSISTENTLY, AS ME.
3. I showed up as myself every. single. day. Authenticity was crucial having been in such toxic corporate environments previously. This was going to be done my way - the human way.
VALUE IN MOVING FORWARD WITHOUT ALL THE INFORMATION
4. I moved forward without having all the information or waiting for things to be perfect. I am not an overthinker and knew being wrong would be less costly than being slow.
OUTSOURCED & AUTOMATED
5. Understood what services needed to be offered to my clients but also understood what to outsource and automate as soon as possible.
BALANCE OF WORKING ON MY BUSINESS AND CLIENT PROJECTS
6. I balance working on and in my business daily.
