How to Create Hype with your Launch

When launching a new business, re-brand, product or website, you have to actually tell people about your new platform and often more than once! (data tells us someone needs to see something at least 7 times before they actually do anything!) Below are strategies for promoting your new ‘thing”!

TIP 1: SHARE WITH INDUSTRY PEERS AND FRIENDS

This is my favourite tip! Getting your industry friends to share your new launch in an email or on Instagram stories is a great way to encourage you to share without feeling awkward.

Having community and encouragement during a launch is crucial, as I often feel the ‘weird marketing vibes’ strongest during a launch.

If you decide to have your industry peers share, make pre-made graphics and templates for them to access to make it easy for them to post on social media.

TIP 2: CREATE TEASERS OF YOUR PRODUCT

Everyone loves a teaser! Just like your favourite Taylor Swift album soon to drop, share short clips, screenshots and more to your email list and on social.

Don’t forget to share WHY this launch is coming and use storytelling as a way to create anticipation and hype.

TIP 3: GIVE ‘INSIDERS’ ACCESS TO SPECIAL INFORMATION

If you have been in business for any length of time, you’ve probably heard that ‘the money is in the list!’ While I prefer to think of my email subscribers as friends, you should consider gifting and incentivizing others to join your newsletter list for special offers.

TIP 4: USE A COUNTDOWN TIMER

Creating urgency, or a limited time offer, encourages people to act! I can’t tell you the number of times I opened an email, was interested in an offer, but got distracted and never returned to the sales page.

It’s not that I didn’t want the product, but without a reminder, or some kind of ‘urgency’ that the offer would be removed, I didn’t make the time to whip out my wallet.

You can use free timers like motionmail and them to your sales page!

TIP 5: UTILIZE VIDEO

Video marketing is powerful! Display videos of your product, the ‘why’ of your brand through stories, and more with video! You can use video on Instagram stories, on the sales page, or YouTube to create more hype about your product.

TIP 6: BE BOLD ON SOCIAL MEDIA

I know I’ve said it before, but hiding out on social media or being afraid to sell won’t help your bottom line. Marketing in an authentic way to share with your audience IS serving! With the help of tip 1, engaging your peers, sharing on social media is a great way to remind and refresh your audience why they need your product!

bonus tip!
